Lake Zell, surrounded by the impressive alpine backdrop of Zell am See-Kaprun, is a paradise for anglers. With an area of 4.55 km² and a depth of up to 68 meters, it provides ideal conditions for various fish species such as pike, lake char, lake trout, and zander.
The fishing season lasts from April 1st to November 30th, daily from 4:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Fishing is allowed both from the shore and by boat. Whether in the early morning hours or at sunset – Lake Zell promises an unforgettable fishing experience amidst nature.
Fishing permits and regulations
Day and weekly permits are conveniently available online at hejfish.com. The fishing license permits fishing from the shore or from a boat with up to two fishing rods or two trolling rods. Please adhere to local fishing regulations and closed seasons to ensure sustainable fish stocks.
Boat rental and equipment
Several rental stations are available in the region for boat fishing. Please note that fishing from belly boats, fishing kayaks, or stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) is not permitted. Make sure to bring the necessary equipment or rent it locally to make the most of your fishing experience.
